Budget travel is a great interest of mine because it combines two of my passion – saving money and going on vacation. While the term obviously have budget coming first, I believe that budget travel is all about the experience. Without having a blast, who cares if we are saving all the money in the world right? Luckily, my experience as a salesperson allowed me to travel all around the world on someone else’s dime. Having been through so many different situations overseas also gave me a chance to see many places and talk to people from different countries to find out how to save. In fact, I found so many ways to save that I wrote a book on the subject, The Little Budget Travel Book. In it, I share my secrets so you can go on vacation again and again like it is free (well, at least for a much lower cost.).

I too love travelling to new places and to explore new things. But I prefer budget tours rather than the spending more money unnecessarily. I suggest the travelers to spend their money wisely.

I LOVE to travel (62 countries so far!!!!!) and have just recently returned from Vietnam. A great place to visit, and VERY cheap if you are on a budget.

Enjoying a holiday without suffering a huge dent on your savings afterwards can give one of the best feelings in the world. But if there’s one thing I wouldn’t mind spending more money on, that would be travel insurance. But, still no worries because there are inexpensive but reliable ones to be had.

Budgeting is for everyone. I never advise people not to spend money, I advise them not to WASTE money. I am on Social Security and I my lifestyle is very frugal. That frugality allows me to travel anywhere in the world on my Social Security income. My travel is not cruises or fancy resorts. My travel is mainly by bicycle, hostels, campsites, and not eating in restaurants. Instead of an expensive week on the French Riviera, I can spend two months biking the south of France.
