Here’s how the rebate works:
1. Verizon sends you a card that says VISA and $100 on it but doesn’t look like a normal visa card or a gift card. The card comes with instructions on how to redeem it.
2. You follow the instructions.
3. When you try to use it, it will fail.
4. You call and wait 45 minutes for them to tell you that you didn’t do X which was not in the instructions.
5. They fix the problem for you.
6. You try to use it, and it fails again.
7-A. If you have the patience, you can spend another 45 minutes on hold for a similar response and a similar following experience.
7-B. You wait until you have patience again. In the mean time the card doesn’t expire but it starts being depleted with fees for not having been activated.
8. Eventually it empties itself out or you check the balance to discover it is value is now $11.36.
9. Ultimately you will throw it away having never gotten anything but disappointment.
