I just received my notice about how much I will receive on my economic stimulus payment. That’s right, I got the actual economic stimulus payment before the notice of how much I will receive. In a way, it’s funny because it makes the notice totally useless but in another way, it’s just sad. Has this happened to any of you?
Seriously though, perhaps a more important question is whether you’ve received the stimulus check.
Whether it came from direct deposit or check, you should have received it by now so if you haven’t, you can call 1-866-234-2942 (I got this number from the notice so it should be safe) to find out why.
Since we are on this subject, how are you using the money that you’ve received? I’ve put that money into my online savings account where I will eventually put it into my investments. I would’ve bought into stocks/funds right away since the stock market is down but I want to wait till next month when I have more money from my next month’s savings so I can invest all of it at once.
Another good choice for the economic stimulus check is paying off debt. If you have a ton of debt, you may feel like a couple hundred dollars may not make too much of a difference but anything helps!
So put that money to work, in a good way!

The truly scary thing is that some people want to put the same government bureaucrats in charge of our health care system! If that doesn’t keep you up at night, I don’t know what will.
I didn’t even get the notice! I did get the money which is really all I care about
I got my notice a couple of days ago, but haven’t gotten the check yet. It’s supposed to mailed out by June 6th for my social.
For those who haven’t received it yet, checks are scheduled to be sent all the way into July so don’t be too worried. Check the schedule on the IRS’s website to see when yours is scheduled to be mailed.
We also got our payment before our notice. Guess one office is more efficient than the other?
Yeah, the schedule for me to get my check is in July so I’m not that worried.
I never got a notice but I did get the direct deposit so I am happy. I put part towards debt payoff and part to my emergency fund.
I haven’t received it yet, but I got a letter informing me that I will receive it soon.
Maybe they could save money, by turning everything digital….
I also got the notice a few days after the money was deposited. Ha! They should have saved the 41 cents. But i’m sure it boosted USPS’s revenue somehow.
It’s all going to savings. With prices going up for everything, I’m really feeling strapped for cash. It’s a nice boost to the Emergency fund.
Got ours, notice after the fact!! LOL!
Put money down for deposit and rent for apt. relocating for job for hubby and i will make 1 1/2 times what we make now, and can walk to work. Where we were driving 2 cars 70 miles each a day to work!! BIG SWITCH+savings!! We are moving 55 miles away! I’m excited! Just don’t like the fact of renting after 10 years of paying no rent(owning). Think this will be a good move.
We’re “investing” ours into our bathroom remodeling project. Though we aren’t planning to sell the house soon, we estimate that this project (which will cost us less than $5000 total) will give us an immediate return on our investment by increasing the cost of the house. No fancy-dancy trendy overpriced stuff that will be outdated in a few years, just replacing cheap apartment quality fixtures with nicer ones including a soaker tub and a toilet that actually flushes, installing some built-in recessed cabinets to make the most of the small space, and tiling the tub surround, walls and floor in a style consistent with the age (early 1930’s) of the house.
OH and I meant to add that we both got ours a few weeks before we got the notice in the mail, telling us that it will be arriving soon. ::rolling eyes::
i got the direct deposit, than two weeks later got the letter. now it’s just a matter of tim eto see if i will get the child tax thing.
We paid down debt. We did receive the funds before the notice, but ours was electronically deposited as well.
We received our notice several days after our money was deposited too..
As far as spending it..We just stuck it in savings as there was nothing we really needed or wanted.. I really tried to think of something I couldn’t live without and almost thought I needed a Wii but they were sold out at the time and now I realize I probably don’t need a Wii
Paid down debt. We prefer owning our house to renting and maintaining it for the bank.
The notice I got said I wouldn’t get the money until July. My son got the same bit of intelligence.
Mine is going into a fund to pay down a small 2nd mortgage used for some renovations…or possibly, since it’s not much, just to snowflake down the principal. I think my son intends to put his toward his fund to buy a new central HVAC unit.
