Disclosure:
I will be paid a small amount of money for this post but interestingly, this site has some information pertaining to personal finance.

About:
As part of any complete financial plan, life insurance should be taken into account. This site claims to be an agency that shows users an instant quote showing premiums before asking for our contact information.

URL:
http://www.lifeinsure.com

How it works:
It is very apparent that the main focus of this site is their instant quote system because it is one of the first things you noticed when you go into the page. Once you fill the form out and answer some questions about your habits (which took less than 5 minutes), you will be presented with the premium from a list of companies. The main advantage of this instant quote system is that you can get a premium without ever leaving your contact information, which is what they are claiming to be superior to their competitors. As a blogger who grew up with companies, I would have to agree since getting to the premium is very fast. Personally, it was very easy to get a sense of what different scenarios would cost me. For example, my premium was $28 a month from one company at 15 year term insurance and would jump to $95 a month if I change it to return of premium insurance. Some of us probably do not know what the different insurance options are (myself included), there is a section called Education Center on the site which educates us on various life insurance terms. There is also a FAQ that answers questions like ??oes my weight effect my life insurance rate???etc. Interestingly, the correct language is affect instead of effect in this question.
I found the education center most beneficial since I have never thought much about life insurance, but the instant quote system should be pretty good for people that want to see how their current plan stacks up against the list offered at lifeinsure.com.

Suggestions:
After seeing the list of companies and their quotes on what the premium would cost if I went with them, I noticed that the company logo?? picture is missing for American National Insurance Company (this was at time of testing, it might be fixed now).

It was interesting to see that they have a BBBOnline Reliability link right at the top of the screen that shows the company (Intramark Insurance Services, Inc.) has been in business since 1979 and became a Better Business Bureau since 2004. However, throughout the site, it is not apparent to me (other than a statement within one sentence in the contact page) that the company name is posted. Even the copyright statement at the bottom was for LifeInsure.com.

It is almost cool to see a company website having a blog, but I clicked on it and noticed that the last post was from March 4th, 2007. At the time of writing, it was almost 2 months ago. As a blogger, my opinion is that this is a big flaw because no one likes to read outdated posts. Perhaps the company can just get rid of the blog part of things and add the information in the post in the site since many of the posts in there are probably time-less.

It would also be great if the insurance site would let us know how it makes money. This can potentially help people gain trust with the company and use the company as our agency.
