Initial thoughts
I?? sure many of you have seen dozens of credit card websites, and for the people that actually need a card, it provides a quick way to look at all the offers available. Many of the sites were created as a quick money scheme as the website owner basically slaps together a very basic website with all the information and then try to get you to sign up for the credit cards while he/she earns the commissions. So when I click on the link to this website, I was expecting something similar.
However, I was pleasantly surprised after I clicked on the link to the website. There is definite care that has gone into this, as the website is well laid out and the colors are pleasing to the eye (or my eye anyway).
They have also added a credit blog that have articles to credit card related topics. I went in there for a quick look and it seems to be updated every couple days on pretty interesting topics.
How it works
This is pretty straight forward website with credit card offers. Once you hit the front page, you can click on the page that either shows all the cards from a particular card issuer or a list of cards that fall under a specific category.
For example, I clicked on Cash Back Credit Cards and was showed 19 different credit cards that had cash back. On this summary page, you can see a general description, as well as its Intro APR, Intro Period, Regular APR, Annual Fee, and Rewards Type.
From here, you can click on Apply Now to the card you like, or click on a Full Review link to see more information. Clicking the Apply Now button will send you directly to the credit card application form on the card issuer?? website, where you can fill in your information and apply online.
Suggestions
It would be great if they can offer a comparison table and let us chose a couple cards to do a side by side comparison on the same page. Another area that can be improved is their rating system. It is based out of 5, but once you hit a category to sees all the cards, you will see that there are many cards with the same rating. For example, the low interest credit cards page has 5 cards with a 3.5 rating. Perhaps a more fine grained rating system would give users a better gauge of the ranking of the card amongst its peers.
Final words
I applaud the effort, and hope that this website will grow into a credit card website that will benefit the related industry similar to what bankrate.com has done for the lending industry. Check the website out when you get a chance.
