It’s disgraceful what some ‘advisers’ try to do.
They only care about their commissions and putting you in the investments that pay the most to them.

Thank you for listing out those questions! Most people talk about what we should ask the advisers but seldom do people talk about what advisers should ask us.

I’m going to ask my adviser why he never cared about how much money I have now.

I echo the “keep looking” advice as well. As with every industry, there are both good and bad apples out there. Since our finances are so important, it pays to keep looking.

I understand your frustration. That bites.

I’ve been in the business for 25 years. I know 2 other guys who I’d let my family talk to. I have plenty of friends who I love ….but I wouldn’t let them near my family to advise them…

I have yet to know any financial adviser who will look at my tax documents to figure out what my financial situation is, nor has anyone asked me how much I really have apart from what I plan to let him/her manage.

Are good financial advisers just too hard to find?
