Black Friday in United States is the day after Thanksgiving where many retail stores will put out a huge sale to clear out their merchandise. For many consumers, this also represents a way for them to go shopping at a major discount off regular price.

Browsing through cheap credit cards? Why not look into a payday loan instead and have cash deposited into your account within hours with this quick loan?

Spent nothing. No need to feel ashamed, very proud of it in fact. Can’t get rich just throwing money away.

That being said, if you come across a great deal and you were going to give that as a gift anyway, then by all means, you should buy it.

There were many sales going on this Black Friday that were indeed enticing! Although I did want to take advantage of many sales , the traffic alone was very discouraging!

I went to an outlet mall that was 60 miles outside of the city only to find that the traffic was backed up 45 minuted down the highway 2 hours before the stores would even open! Talk about ridiculous!

I had some family members that were actually further up the highway than I was but they decided to “tough it out”. I on the other hand will choose a later date to go shopping.

On the brighter side of things, sales were good for majority businesses giving us a boost in domestic economy!

    Dwayne,

I actually had a different experience and posted about it on my blog. Traffic was relatively light, and didn’t have any problems going to shopping outlets. Interesting to know there was some craziness. What part of the world are you?

Dwayne: Hmm. You must also be around Southern California! :) I bet the Cabazon outlet around Palm Beach, CA would be very busy.

Double Journey: Good for you! I’m sure you will be wealthy in no time if you can be frugal through Black Friday :D

I stopped getting the sale paper. Guess what I have no desire to go for any “special” shopping days anymore.

The easiest way to ween off sales/marketing -driven shopping is to throw away the salespaper.

Invest with Dax: Hmm. That’s a good way to stop yourself from shopping :)

I went but what I really went for was gone by the time I got there. I refuse to camp out overnight like some did. I’m too old for that! :) I missed laptops for $229 but I got a great deal on a digital camera bundled with a digital frame for $99. My camera bit the dust awhile back and all I had was my cell phone for pics. I also got tachie gifts for my son and daughter, so I came out alright money-wise, spending just around $200.

I’ll do the rest of my shopping online using coupon codes and free shipping offers.

I went to 4 places, Sears, Menards, Joann Fabrics and Home Depot. I spent $125 at Sears, $60 at Menards, $25 at Joann’s and we actually got cash back at Home Depot (my husband got the 4 pack Ryobi for the great sale and returned the 2 pack he bought for $100 3 weeks ago and got actually cash back for it). So, it was A-OK.

Missed out on the laptop too. :-(

Ann: I wanted that $229 laptop from Best Buy also!!! $99 for a camera and picture frame is a good deal since those picture frames are usually $200+. Good for you that you were able to find something that you really wanted :)

I don’t want to line up overnight either but my fiancee really wanted to. Good thing I convinced her that it would be useless to line up unless you went there at dinner time the night before and wait!

Carrie Anne: Yup the laptop!! I bet it was the first time to go at best buy! Yeah I have a story about always prices always going down and then having to return the thing for money back so maybe I should make a post about it. Stay tuned :)

  10. Ann on Says:

Re: the camera: I learned after I bought it that my son had planned to get it for me for Christmas! Oh, well. He has something else in mind now, and I still have the camera..lol

  11. MoneyNing on Says:

Ann: Good for you :) At least your son didn’t overspend :) Let us know what you got for Christmas!!!

  12. Melissa on Says:

during the black friday sale @ best buy, do they have n e laptops 4 $200 or less??

  13. MoneyNing on Says:

Melissa: They might. Actually other retailers might have them too but you just have to watch the flyers that go around since they have new offers every year. If you really want a good deal, be prepared to wait in line though.
