Christmas is the Time of Giving for Nuru and Why I Love Writing for MoneyNing

by MoneyNing

This post is not really personal finance related but I’m so excited about this that I have to share! A few days ago, Tim from Texas Tech University saw my post on the Nuru Personal Finance Cards Giveaway and wrote me:

David,
I am a student who is volunteering with a school organization called Red to Black at Texas Tech University. I am currently counseling a group of 7 guys who are trying to get their lives back together after some substance abuse issues. Every two weeks we meet for an hour and talk about personal financial management.

I ran across your website and I was wondering if you would be so kind to donate a package of Money Ning cards for this group? I think it would be really helpful in getting these guys to learn some of the basic concepts by having these cards to refer to.

After a few email exchanges explaining to Tim who the cards were from and contacting the manufacturer, I got this from Luke @ Nuru.

Thanks for sending me this. I’ll contact Tim about getting him some decks.

Nuru is soooo generous to do this and I’m very happy to be able to help Tim out! This is just one example of why I love writing over here!  You can also help out by donating to charities and helping those that need it most!

Join in the holiday spirit and have a Merry Christmas!

‘Tis the season of giving!
Isn’t that just the bestest feeling – heart happy feeling – to be able to help someone else!

Enjoy!

Trevor and marci: Definitely very happy to be able to help! Like I said on day one – if I can help at least one person with the blog, it’s time well spent!
