Wells Fargo Online Website is Down

by MoneyNing

I just want to let everyone that is frustrated know that the Wells Fargo Online Website is Down right now.  I know it doesn’t give anyone comfort in knowing this but at least we know it’s not our connection that is at fault.  No one knows exactly what is wrong yet (not even Wells Fargo) but they are working on fixing the issue.

I bet this is the same problem they had on Monday when the website was down for one day.  It seems like there is a major problem in Well Fargo’s servers right now so hang on tight and let them do their debugging / fixing.

In the mean time, everyone who calls their technical support line is probably only going to get the usual “Sorry for the inconvenience but we are working hard to troubleshoot the problem and it will be up soon” type of message after you wait an hour on the phone.

If you need money in the mean time, try to go to the branch and talk to them to see what options you have.  One thing you can do is buy something cheap from the grocery store using your debit card and ask for cash back.

Good luck, I will be checking on the Wells Fargo website to see when it goes back up again.

It seems there have been outages for several large sites lately (especially today). It’s annoying, hrrmm. Feedburner lost everyone’s stats this morning, which is um, unnerving.

MW: Yeah I’m sure the blog community will be devastated if Feedburner stops working without warning and a replacement :)

I know a guy who works for a banks online system and they have problems like that more often than you think. Expect problems around paydays (first and middle of month) and whenever they upgrade their systems.

Eric: I used to be a MIS person at my computer so I know what your friend is referring to since things go down ALL THE TIME :)

I would expect them to have a VERY high redundancy though so no customer will ever feel the effects however. I guess I was wrong.

Wells Fargo is always having system issues. They are still struggling to locate hundreds of thousands of dollars in missing deposits caused by system outages the week of August 20th. Shame on Wells Fargo.

Gracie: I can’t believe something like this could happen to a major bank in this century.

Maybe I should switch banks! But then again, they would’ve found the problem and fixed it for next time, while some other bank might still have the same vulnerability.

I use their online bill pay, and am irritated that I can’t pay bills today. Now I’m wondering if they’ve sent the checks that I already had scheduled, since they’re having so many problems. I think I’ll be checking into more reliable alternatives. Very poor management from such a large bank with a HUGE customer base!

Dear Wells Fargo,

You’re all f-ck wits. I’m in Santiago, Chile and I need to see my g–damn account. The second I return to the states you’re history. PS I was looked at like I was from Mars when I walked into a Houston branch and told the manager I needed information about moving abroad. He was worthless, and everyone he called on the phone was worthless. What was helpful? What’s the ONLY good thing about Wells Fargo? THE WEB SITE.

you cannot afford to have this happen ALL DAY to customers around the world. horribly incompetent. if ESPN never manages to crash…well…I’m done here.

Morons. Step into my office. “Why?” CAUSE YER F-CKIN FIRED!

Love,
Cody
