Day’s Gain: $470.50
NYSE (NYX) and AMD was the main cause while every other stock was very slow.
For NYSE, the Euronext merger is a serious driver for the stock. Once it got approved, the stock was like catching fire, going up 15% in two days. Of course, this was very profitable for me. I have 50 shares of this, and I wish I had 100 shares since I changed it to 50 from 100 in the last second. I shouldn’t complain though since it has gone up. I plan to keep this stock for a little while since this is a long term play and I continue to see that it will go up.
AMD was mainly because of Dell’s good quarter. I believe that it will still go up because all the major PC makers are starting to add AMD into their lineup and most people seriously do not care which chips their computer is.
I also bought Bank of America (BAC) which is really a long term play. I think having a bank here would put some diversification into my portfolio since I now own a semiconductor (AMD), bank (BAC), tobacco (MO), stock exchange (NYSE).
AT&T continues to weak, and I may look for alternatives if it still starts to tail off slowly.
I’m speculating on Radiant Systems (RADS). It was trading around $9-$10 a share for a couple months, then it flew to $13 in 2 weeks, stayed there for a while, and just went back to $10 after the earnings were not so great. I bought this stock at $10.04, and I will sell it if it goes upon $10.15 since this stock is hoovering around this range and I do not want to put my money into something that isn’t going anywhere soon.
