Day’s Gain: $-9.49
It’s been so long since I have posted and today was pretty much a non-productive day in terms of profits/losses.
I bought Boston Scientific right after CNBC’s news that stens are not going to be banned thinking the stock might jump, but it didn’t for 20 minutes and I sold it for a $40 gain. It was fun to do that though since I can go to dinner with that money now!
Aside from that, Bank of America has been a very bad trade. Luckily this is an investment for me and I’m going long with this. I’m down about 6% on this stock and at least I will get back 1% with dividends next Friday. Anyway, right after I bought it, the bad news were that the CFO resigned (never a good thing when someone leaves suddenly) and that people are worried BoA would buy Barclays’ and that they cannot digest the deal quickly enough. I’m going to hold onto this.
I’m still holding AMD through its up and downs. I think that the ATI side will be profitable soon because of XBOX and Wii’s good sales. Also, AMD and ATI can really bundle packages together to save consumers money, creating more market share. Therefore I feel that AMD is a buy.
I also have Radiant, and it has gone down based on no real news. I believe that it has bottomed with all the information on hand, and I want to ride it back to $10 (it’s at $9.53) right now. Yes, this is a little risky but I am willing to bet that there won’t be bad news before it goes back to $10. Of course, this theory assumes the market doesn’t plummet so I will have to watch the market closely on sentiment.
AT&T I still own but this is such a small amount of my portfolio that there is not much to talk about. I believe it will still go up another 10% from here (it is at around $35).
I also have Etrade and it just came back to positive territory today and I believe it will go up another 5% or so in the short term.
I still have Altria, which will be held at least till after the spin off announcement in January. I might buy more of that in January as people will anticipate the announcement which should move it a couple percentage points up.
As always, if you have any suggestions on what I should write about, let me know!
