We’ve all experienced this. We wanted to do something we know is important (lose weight for example). We even know how to do it (exercise everyday) but we never follow through. It’s not that we aren’t capable, it’s just that we always listen to our lazy self.
Next time that lazy mind talks to you again, try to ignore it and do it anyway. I guarantee that once you do it anyway and continue to do it in a while, you will keep this up. This goes against logic but it seems like the more you do the same thing, the easier it is to do it again.
Take this concept to our work place: Next time you don’t want to do something your boss ask you, do it anyway. Take every job you can as a matter of fact. Once you start taking on every job, you won’t mind doing anyone.
This gets us motivated to work because we get into the moment and forget about complaining or telling ourselves to be lazy. Our heart is pumping with energy, our mind is racing through how to take on the next job and we are snowballing the positive energy.
I know this is a little scary to do but it works. Don’t be afraid to try it.

My way to motivate myself is talking to myself all the time! Yes, Emily, you can do it! Yes, Emily, you can make it! It won’t hurt to try but just keep that voice for yourself (don’t speak out or it will be scary to others!).
I’ve been struggling with procrastination for years. I only began to make progress when I realized the solution to procrastination is doing. Now when I find myself avoiding something, I try to drop everything and make a little progress on the task…it seems to help me get motivated to finish.
I am such a great procrastinator. I usually try to write my blog posts 2 weeks in advance.. Sometimes however I get lazy for 2-3 weeks, and then I am out of material to post. Then I just start saying to myself, jeez maybe starting a blog wasn’t such a good idea..

Luckily, i read an inspiring post at MN and then I am all back to work
Thanks for reminding us that hard work always pays off.
