Motivation Monday – Rest on the Weekends and Save Some Money Too

by MoneyNing · 11 comments

This is the ongoing series that talks about reducing the chances of Monday blues so we can advance in our careers! In personal finance, we focus way too much on saving and investing but never on how we can earn more money in the first place!

Part of the reason why we dread Mondays is because we have so much fun over the weekend and we tire ourselves out! I notice that my worst Mondays usually coincide with a jam pack schedule over the weekend. Usually when I have tons of activities over the weekend, I get so tired that I hate waking up Monday morning. From this point on, it’s a downward spiral because I usually have less energy and become impatient with my co-worker, not to mention that I make more mistakes.

When was the last time when you feel rejuvenated on Mondays because you relaxed over the weekend? If the answer is never, why not try it next time?

For those that didn’t rest by the way, all is not lost. The last thing you want to do is load up on sugar because it will only give you short term energy. What you want to do is eat light and drink lots of water! You will be amazed of how much drinking water will help :) If this still doesn’t freshen you up, go outside and get some fresh air because that always helps too!

So by eating light, drinking water and just relaxing over the weekend, I bet you will feel better at work on Mondays and also save a ton of money!

While how much money you make is important, the most important thing is that you enjoy what you do for at least 40 hours a week.

Going to a job that you hate, even if the pay is good, is not a way to manage your finances. The therapy bills will get you in the end!:)

You’re right about hectic weekends! But even when I have a busy Saturday, I can still start Monday refreshed if I keep Sunday as a day of rest.

I feel weird saying this..but I rather enjoy Mondays..it’s usually the start of a brand new work week and everyone’s all fresh and rested. Tuesdays though – are my down days.

Everyday is the same day to me. I enjoy every day and every minute.I think no matter which day of the week it is, working or not, there are going to be some things that make you happy. When tough times come, think of those things that make you happy and quickly move on.This is a very important mindset to have in order to be successful.

I love lazy weekends, but my wife hates it. So Monday blues live on.

I like to spoil myself a little bit during the weekends, so that I will feel refresh on Mondays. Small things like get my nails fixed, get a massage, enjoy a nice SPA with discount coupon etc. How about you guys?

Spoiling yourself during the weekend is OK too. Just don’t spoil yourself too much.
