Everything in life goes hand in hand. If we are not happy at work, we will probably be unsatisfied with our life off work. On the other hand, if our life away from our job is a mess, there’s no chance that we can enjoy our work.

Lately, I’ve been quite happy with my life away from work. There are two main reasons for this:

1. I got married - The life changing event has been great so far. My wife and I are beginning to share our lives together and we can proudly say that “life is good”.
2. Our living standards changed - We recently moved to a new apartment and raised our living standards by living in a nicer place. Although the monthly rent has increased quite dramatically, we are so much happier because our quality of life increased to a never seen level. The difference is so big that it’s like we moved to a different country.

With my new found happiness comes new appreciation for everything including work. I’m writing this article on Sunday without dreading Monday. I wouldn’t say that I’m looking forward to work on Monday without reserve, but at least I don’t feel miserable because my weekend is ending.

Nowadays, I feel more creative and energetic at work. This allows me to be more productive and ultimately be more successful at completing my tasks and at my job in general. This in turn increases my confidence and allows me to enjoy my job even more.

I know it sounds almost too good to be true but simple unrelated things once in a while makes a huge difference. So stay happy, make sure our lives away from work is rewarding and the work place will magically become better for us too.
