NETFLIX is WONDERFUL! For 8.99 plus tax, you get unlimited online movie watching! Our internet and basic cable bill is 61.11 per month, that's IT. Netflix has saved us tons of money, as we used to spend almost $130 a month on premium channels and really fast internet. What a difference.

I also cut coupons ONLY for the item I regularly purchase, then buy the items on sale and use my coupons. Many local libraries and McDonalds have coupon sections/newspapers for the public to go through for FREE, I never pay for coupons. Then, it is so simple to get on Publix, Kroger and Wal-Mart websites and see what is on sale for that week (if you don't look through a paper). AND...Wal-Mart price matches ALL name brand grocery items. So, If Publix has it on sale for $0.99 and you have a coupon to save $.50 on buying 2 items, GO TO WAL-MART (save Gas shopping at one store), use your coupon and price match and SAVE BIG!!!

Amazon charges shipping to your house, which at 3.99 isn't saving you money if the book is almost at the regular cost. Which shipping to borders store is free. And sometimes sellers on amazon are either not honest with condition of book, or their standard of whats new is totally different from the buyer, i've ran into that problem a couple of times, which is why i'm wary of amazon. i do prefer my books in the new condition because that's exactly how they look when i'm finished, i really hate bent anything, and torn pages. used books is something that i will rarely buy, but I hardly buy dvds or cds any more, it's a compromise that i've made with myself. While my husband likes to buy his hats, cds, and itunes. I've gotten him to stop buying new dvds especially when he hasn't even seen the movie yet, as i pointed out, you may not like the movie, but by then it's too late to return it. Netflix is our friend :D

i saved 30 dollars at the grocery store the other day and even got some food that wasn't on sale and didn't have coupons for. The food is stuff that we eat, not just because i have a coupon for it, and i have to buy it.
Getting stuff that you will eat is number one, if its on sale and having coupons is great, but you have to remember that atleast half the stuff in the store you will RARELY see coupons for. its ok to splurge for food that you really want. How can you NOT reward yourself??

I often bring coupons for groceries to find that most of the time, the store brand is cheaper than the name brand with the coupon discount. I usually try to use them only when a product is something I normally buy. If the coupon is for something I 've been wanting to try, I try to catch it on sale, then use the coupon.

Eric: :) It's great that your wife knows this. I think my fiancee knows this too but sometimes I think she wants to think otherwise.

Modern Worker: I agree that it takes a lot of time to clip and save coupons but you actually can save a lot of money with them. The danger is when you see something on sale and you end up buying it even though you never wanted it otherwise.

People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I never clip coupons. I use them (when they're given to me) but I the time and money spend to get coupons, I agree is too much.

I think sometimes people just buy things because they think they are "on sale". Take Rack Room Shoes, they are always having a "sale". It's always buy one get one half off. My wife knows this and yet everytime we go by, they act like it's a new sale and that you have to hurry, time is running out.
