I agree, keep smiling! Quite a bit of research indicates that the simple act of smiling makes you feel better: “feedback from facial expression affects emotional expression and behavior.” According to psychologists at three universities, people aren’t happy because they are successful, they’re successful because they are happy.

Debt has been proven to relate to smiles! Specifically, being debt-laden has been correlated with a number of health problems, including depression. Live frugally and take pride in it.
