Being in Las Vegas and not Gamble

I’m in Las Vegas again and I just want to share with everyone that I’m not gambling!!! I am pretty proud of myself since I’ve always one way or another played at least a few hands of blackjack while I was in Las Vegas in the past. I think the difference this time was because I had a strong feeling that if I do this frequently enough, I will eventually lose money because the odds aren’t in my favor.
I now treat gambling the same way as going to the movies. If I want to go, I will decide how much I want to spend on the event and just assume that the money is spent. I will gamble for entertainment, not to hope that I will get rich.
How do you treat gambling? Do you ever hope that you will become rich when you gamble on something? What about lottery tickets? How many of you dream of becoming really rich when you buy the ticket? The lottery question is interesting because if we don’t dream of becoming rich with it, why would we buy it? Let us know, I look forward to hearing about it.

[...] Being in Las Vegas and not Gamble is a tough thing to do if you like gambling but Money Ning was able to change his habit this time. While I rarely go to casinos, I often find myself going in with the mindset that I won’t spend more than $100, win or lose. Having been to Vegas a couple of times, I can tell you that there are plenty of things to do without gambling. Either way, Vegas will find a way to take money from you because “Vegas always win.” [...]

Good job… the house always wins!
A basic rule to gambling or going out is to stay firm on your limit. Live within your budget and do not over extend your hand. Before I go the bars, I hit up the atm first and take out my max limit for the night and from that moment on, I do not take out my card.
Also, I believe that even if you hit big on gambling, you are likely to either lose or waste that money quickly.
If you go in with the mentality that you are going to spend that money, there’s a good chance that you are going to lose that money. I go in with the mentality that I will win, but if I lose, I’m okay with parting with that money. You just have to set your limit and stay within it.
I only gamble with my life so anytime I go into a casino, I don’t take winnings or losses as seriously as I do with my life. Often at times, if I had some spare cash lying around, I would head over to the cheap tables to see how many hands I could go with. If I luck out, oh well. I can always go back another day, another time.
I don’t like gambling. The longer you play, the higher your odds of losing. I also don’t like buying lottery tickets -this is a tax on the poor. And i don’t want to be poor. But sometimes you have to take a chance (with a gambling thing) but always know how much you have on the line..
I have an addictive OCD personality on some things and I think gambling would be one of them. I know I want to keep playing cards until I win, but I never play for money. It just doesn’t seem like a good idea for me.
You have amazing willpower!
I love Vegas and I love to gamble…. It’s the thrill of it, I never expect to leave rich… I usually have a set amount I will spend (and then usually visit the atm anyway
) … but I would never spend enough money to hurt us financially… so I have no instant control but in the big picture I guess I’m an alright gambler…
I SUCK at gambling, so I probably won’t gamble. I only know how to play blackjack…the cheap way
