Sunday Reading Congrats to Emma Edition

by MoneyNing

Major news on the personal front because Emma received a new job offer!  With the job change, we will be earning a little more money (always welcomed) and she will also be working in a larger company which is something she’s always wanted.

Congratulations!!

As for myself, I’m still transitioning my current job to the new replacement and things are quite hectic as I already started putting in more time into my blogs. Luckily, Emma has been extremely supportive during this whole process!

Anyway, enough about me. Let’s look at some great personal finance articles from my friends around the blogsphere!

  • My Two Dollars tells us that people in some areas just don’t give a crap about what kind of cars you drive.  No keeping up with the jones and no judging based on how wealthy you are.  It really sounds like David found a lovely place to live in!
  • I hope it’s not a common thing for PFN because like me, Clever Dude got a ticket too!  Oh no!
  • I’ve never liked the 4% rule of retirement withdrawal because any rule is always too general and inflexible.  Four Pillar visits this with an updated version so those interested needs to check it out!
  • Squawkfox tells us to surround ourselves with excellence!
  • Blunt Money talks about something every parents need to think about – Buying cars for their kids
  • The Smarter Wallet gives us 8 summer activities to do that won’t break our bank!

Congrats! It’s always nice to hear something about the bloggers… makes it so much more personal and not just cut and dried financial advice :) Thanks for sharing!

All: Thanks everyone :) Emma and I are pretty excited and the great thing is that she still works very close from home!

Once I go full time blogging, our family gas expenses will definitely be very minimal :D
