This week, I hosted my first carnival ever and also invited a few people to my new apartment tonight for dinner. Therefore, both my wife and I spent much of our time preparing for these events. As with most things, we share our workload quite well. She does what she does best (cooking), while I do my share (writing and sharing with my readers, you).
There were quite a few good articles this week and I encourage you to read them all! The more we read about the subject of personal finance, the more it will be on our minds and the more we can find ways to save and gain wealth!
- MyTwoDollars teaches us how to replace missing savings bonds.
- The Digerati Life tells us how to invest in the down market! Such timely advice in the bear market that we are in now!
- Get Rich Slowly shows us we can be creative and make our own footrest! It just goes on to show that we don’t have to go out and buy everything and spend money!
- It’s amazing to me who much the prices of digital cameras have come down. Take a look at the deal for a Cannon SD1000 and Epson printer for $155!
- UK Finance Service has a few financial tips for students! Check these out to get the most financial help for your education!
- Dividend Growth Investor gives us an analysis of US Bancorp, a stock that I own. The demand for financial stocks is definitely not there right now so don’t buy unless you have a really long term horizon!
- TheLocoMono checks the IRS website and tries to define what his income triangle is!
Just remember, knowledge is power and the only way to gain knowledge is to spend time studying!

All electronics are dropping in price. It’s better never to upgrade your electronics

Another way I figured is not to buy the newest generation of products. Instead, you can buy products that came out 6-12 months ago with a pretty low price and decent performance.
Also, after you have it for another year, check the Ebay price - sometime there may be surprise that the auction price is close to what you have paid one year ago. I have personally once bought a laptop for $800 and sold it about one year later on Ebay for $850 :)Of course, to pull this off, you need to make sure that you are getting a very good deal when you buy it.
