The start of the year usually means that I should keep my eraser close while I keep correcting 2008 whenever I write dates!
2009 will be great though (like I keep saying) because now that you regularly come visit, you have at least made the commitment to really focus on being responsible with your finances!
Before you get ready for the true start of working full force tomorrow, why not check out some of the interesting articles I found during the last week?
- There’s an article over at Investing School promoting online savings accounts as an investment option. Hop over there to find out what it’s all about!
- A PFN buddy Squawkfox turned one on Jan 2! Check out her post but beware as some post has “killers” in the titles!
- Cleverdude explains what he believes frugality really means. What about you? What does being frugal mean to you?
- Four Pillars showed off some of his best post of 2008 and here’s a great one – How to Increase the Odds of Getting Anything You Want. Who doesn’t want that?
- Although it’s so important, budgeting is a subject that almost scares people and one where personal finance bloggers seldom cover. That’s why when Blunt Money wrote about budgeting by percentages, it’s so refreshing! You definitely need to check it out!
- Speaking of budgeting, My Two Dollars have a post up too with a bunch of budgeting tips!
- The Digerati Life has a great recap of some of the top financial news of 2008!
- Frugal Dad wrote a post that was worth linking to with just the question in the title – Would You Sell All Your Material Possessions For Debt Freedom? What do you think? Check out what his readers think too!

I have already made that mistake some many time already. When do you think our brains switch over to the New Year (that would be a great article to write). I think by February our brain and ourselves will be in agreement that it’s 2009.
Chiko: I’m not sure when but it’s a problem I’ve had since grade school I believe!! I think it’s not that we aren’t used to being in 2009 (it’s doesn’t matter to our minds whether it’s 2009 or 2008 after all) but rather our habit of writing 2008. Once we write it enough times, we will automatically switch over.
Happy New Year to you and yours! Thanks for the mention! Here’s to an even more prosperous 2009!
Happy New Year David! Best wishes to you for 2009! May all your dreams and goals this year be fulfilled!
