What are Your Guilty Pleasures?

by MoneyNing

We all deny having any, but we all know everyone has some. Guilty pleasures can sometimes be money pits but many of us usually find excuses to get/own/experience them anyway.

According to Wikipedia, it is defined as:

Guilty pleasure, something one enjoys despite feeling guilt for it

So let me ask you today. What is your guilty pleasure?

But first, here’s mine – iced beverages. Whether it’s coffee, soda, milk tea or everything in between, I’m all in as long as it’s sweet and cold. It doesn’t have to contain caffeine, but there’s something magical about these drinks. I know, the sugar in these little sweet bottles are a major contributor to my weight gain, but I am happily consuming the one as I write this!

Now that I’m thinking about it, these drinks are unhealthy for me physically and financially. Yikes!

So what’s yours? Don’t be afraid to share! :)

Iced beverages are one of mine too. :)

…and terrible action/thriller movies. I love ‘em.

chik-fil-a,Dr. Pepper, and Big Red. Lived in Cali and Big Red was few and far between. Since I moved back to Texas, lets just say I’ve made up for lost time.

Mine’s gotta be going to the movies. I can’t stop myself from watching pretty much every movie out there and it has to be in the theaters!

Pop (or soda if that’s what its called where you are). I drink one or two every single day. I get headaches when I don’t have one until the afternoon (I know, addicted). I can’t help it, they taste so good and they give me a boost. I don’t feel that guilty, though, because I abstain from alcohol so really I spend WAY less on beverages than the average person.

Fast food, particularly hamburgers, fries and pizzas and those carbonated drinks. I know that they area unhealthy but still. Also, ice cream sundaes. The above are killers (in all the fullness of the word but i still devour them anytime i get the chance). Luckily, I think that I have one of those genes that make me not grow fat (lucky me). Finally really strong and very sweet coffee. This is terrorizing my teeth (one of my best parts) but that shot of caffeine and that aftertaste of a scalding hot cup of coffee have seduced me.

Going to the movies… I am content if it was a good film, but usually am regretful because the money sucked big time.

Alcohol. Good beer and wine… I really need to make my own, because it gets quite expensive.

I smoke… I don’t think most people put smoking as a guilty pleasure but since I know it’s not good for me, I will list it out here.

I do enjoy it though, but it’s unhealthy for me and it’s a huge money sucker.

Mine is dried mango from Costco! Even my mom keeps telling me that it’s not good for you if you eat too much per day, I still can’t stop eating it once the bag is open…… I can pretty much finish one big bag in a week (or less) by myself…..

I love books too! I’ve bought so many books that I’ve even thought about learning speed reading so I can go to Barnes and Noble and just sit there and finish a book without going to buy it :D

I’d probably go with video games as my guilty pleasure, since they do give me a great deal of enjoyment, but they take time away from when I should be working or otherwise being a productive and useful citizen of the world.

My guilty pleasure is Cars! I’ve had 8 cars in 10 years unbelievably. I write an article about it, as at least I wanted to share to the world how to negotiate and buy cars since I’ve had so much experience :)

“8 Cars In 10 Years, I Have A Problem But You Won’t!

The other guilty pleasure is trying to make a lot of money in the stock market. Sometimes I succeed, and often times I fail! Hence why so much of my savings is in a 4.5% CD. I don’t like to go for broke and co-mingle. My job, 401k, company stock is enough exposure!

Have a great weekend guys!

First off, sweet tea may be the best guilty pleasure of all, although I never manage to feel guilty.

Mine would have to be the Little Debbie fudge brownies that you can buy at the gas station for 50 cents. My dad would take me to the store and we’d eat one after my little league baseball games, and I’ve been addicted ever since.

I knew it sounds weird, but I personally craving for tea, no matter what types of tea, I just can’t live without it!

Anybody surprised that 60% of Americans are overweight? Why is it so hard to stay in shape in America?

Owning a Snuggie, mindless reality tv shows, Facebook mobile, wine

Whew, mine is take-out at restaurants: hoagies, Chinese, Mexican, whatever hits my fancy; I just like to wait around at night until the last minute when I’m too lazy to cook, and then go out to get some food.

I’m sure it’s killing my budget, but the worst part is I don’t keep track of how much I spend on it…

I almost forgot. Ice-cream is another killer for me. As you can probably tell, pretty much anything that’s sweet and cold is good for me!

I forgot to add books onto mine. I want to have a huge library, so I started collecting them a year or so ago and I will continue to do so until I die!
