Lise: It goes well with the color scheme they picked for the office. See how the hand rails for the stairs are also gray/silverish?

Philip: I can't believe people actually fall for it. Of course, you get some so called "money-expert" writing articles about how he made millions just by paying the deposits and selling the property before the houses close escrow.

marylandterps: It is hard to say why everyone lives in California! I came here because of my job, and plans to stay here for a while because I don't want to leave my job. Other than that, there isn't many reasons why I like this place more than any other I've been in!

I agree that the house prices are way too expensive though. There is no way the average working class can afford a house here now.

Why do people live in So Cal when it is so expensive? We moved to Sarasota Florida & just bought a new 1400 sq ft single family home, w/2 car attached garage, sitting on a lake, 8 miles from the beach. The price? $222K. And FL has no state income tax!! Sarasota also has great public schools & very low crime.

Oh, i believe that's becoming the norm these days. I have seen such things happening in India and Singapore too. You pay a hefty deposit to book a house when even the foundations haven't been laid.

The builder collects enough money thru deposits to probably build up the whole apartment. Effectively, he builds up the whole structure without any input from his own capital.

Greed you see ;)

J: No but the place is so deserted it might not be noticed even if it was one!

Honestly, these guys must be nuts trying to get people to buy a house that expensive without a model.

Is that a body in the gutter (3rd image)?

Unfortunately, my punchlist inspection checklist only works if a house exists.
