Please look at these pictures and you can further see why I have given the Ridiculous Housing award to this development.

Where are the houses?

It’s beside a ditch!

But they have a wall around it already! (Well, almost done anyway)

At least there is enough parking so far…

Part of the award winning sales office!
As you can see, the place hasn’t even been built yet! They expect people to put down a $10,000 dollar deposit without even seeing any models! It is amazing how developers are so anxious to sell houses these days. I just feel like this is so ridiculous that they cannot build a nicer looking sales office first. My fiancée and I walked in and were greeted with extremely cold air conditioning and the sales agent instantly. Perhaps this is because we were the only ones in there at the time (maybe the first ones for the last 30 days). The best picture they had at this time is like the one below:

Noticed that they cut off the left side where it is attached to make it look like a single family home?
To their credit, the homes are 2,495 sq ft – 2,980 sq ft. which is quite large for

Is that a body in the gutter (3rd image)?
Unfortunately, my punchlist inspection checklist only works if a house exists.
J: No but the place is so deserted it might not be noticed even if it was one!
Honestly, these guys must be nuts trying to get people to buy a house that expensive without a model.
Oh, i believe that’s becoming the norm these days. I have seen such things happening in India and Singapore too. You pay a hefty deposit to book a house when even the foundations haven’t been laid.
The builder collects enough money thru deposits to probably build up the whole apartment. Effectively, he builds up the whole structure without any input from his own capital.
Greed you see
Why do people live in So Cal when it is so expensive? We moved to Sarasota Florida & just bought a new 1400 sq ft single family home, w/2 car attached garage, sitting on a lake, 8 miles from the beach. The price? $222K. And FL has no state income tax!! Sarasota also has great public schools & very low crime.
Philip: I can’t believe people actually fall for it. Of course, you get some so called “money-expert” writing articles about how he made millions just by paying the deposits and selling the property before the houses close escrow.
marylandterps: It is hard to say why everyone lives in California! I came here because of my job, and plans to stay here for a while because I don’t want to leave my job. Other than that, there isn’t many reasons why I like this place more than any other I’ve been in!
I agree that the house prices are way too expensive though. There is no way the average working class can afford a house here now.
I like how the sales office has bars over the window. Nice touch.
Lise: It goes well with the color scheme they picked for the office. See how the hand rails for the stairs are also gray/silverish?
