Do Not Wait and Start Saving Immediately

In life, we need to take action.  Today, I need everyone to start saving immediately if you haven’t yet.  How many of us have always thought about saving but think that we can always do it tomorrow?  We always think that we can wait, but you will be waiting forever to be financially free too.

Don't wait to start saving

  • We can’t wait until we buy the next big screen TV but we can always wait to setup your 401k accounts.
  • We can’t wait to go on a vacation but we can always wait to pay down our mortgages.
  • We can’t wait to get rich quick but we can always wait to learn how to get rich through time.
  • We can’t wait to leave work but we can always wait to learn how to increase our wealth.
  • We can’t wait for early retirement but we will have to wait.
  • If it is you, change.
  • If you want to feel financially secure, save.
  • If you give yourself excuses, stop.

Trim down your spending and start saving.  Otherwise, I guarantee you will regret it.

My parents came to the U.S. in 1927, 2 years before the Depression. They met on the ship. Mother worked in Queens, N.Y. as a housekeeper and my father worked as an Ironworker, a trade he learned in Germany. Neither had money and neither spoke English. Two years later they married and about 1 1/2 years later I was born.

The depression hit in October 1929. My father’s hours were cut from 40 hours down to 20 hours a week. But he went out and did odd jobs to make up for the loss. They were extremely careful with every penny and saved. By 1937 they bought a duplex house in Irvington, N.J. and rented out the other half.

By 1944 or 1945, they bought a summer cottage in the Catskills, N.Y. They saved money and yet we still lived a good life. They taught me to be frugal and to this day I do not waste money on excesses. I started out poor, learned a trade, eventually when 39 years old bought my first 2 bankrupt businesses (eventually had 5) and also had 9 multi family homes, and 19 apartments. Thrift payed off BIG TIME. To this day even though I am financially well off, I still buy low mileage used cars. They are like new and I save a ton of money that I can invest and make more money.

Learn a trade, strive for perfection, work hard, save money and cautiously invest = FINANCIAL SUCCESS.

Richard: I think as long as you are working on it, eventually you can break it.

Easier said than done. Laziness is a hard habit to break.

Carl: You just got to start. Tomorrow never comes.

Fiscal Musings: You are definitely right. I hope to see you and I both be wealthy.

So often we don’t ever get past our intentions. If we ever will have a chance to be wealthy it will be because we took specific steps to get there.
