back to school
According to collegedata.com, the conservative price for a public university education last year was roughly $27,940 (in-state), while the conservative cost of attending a private university rose to over $57,570. After facing the news of expected tuition price increases yet again this year, students and parents will be looking even harder for ways to save on other college-related expenses they can control.

One of the next biggest expenses for college students is computer equipment. Today’s college students can’t get far without a desktop, laptop, or tablet to help them study, complete assignments, and conduct research. In response, many big-name brands, recognizing both the overwhelming tuition burden and market opportunity, have once again laid out a plethora of their best deals and discounts for the 2023 school year. Here is a summary of the best of them.

Unique Deals and Offers

  • Apple, Inc., which regularly extends an educational discount of 5% to 10% on most Macs and iPads, is currently offering a $150 gift card for new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or iMac, and a $100 gift card with the purchase of any new iPad Pro, iPad Air, or Mac mini. But, as they say, hurry — the deals only last until October 2.
  • Not to be outdone, software giant Microsoft is offering up to $400 off its Surface Laptop 5 and $200 off a Surface Laptop Go 2 as well as $300 off the Surface Pro 9 and Pro Signature Keyboard Bundle.
  • Thanks to the Dell Student Computing Initiative, students can choose from at least 25 deals on P.C.s, laptops, and monitors. There doesn’t appear to be an end date with the offer, yet.
  • Many students find it useful to have their own dorm room printer. HP offers up to 35% off printers to students who order from their site, in addition to other student store prices.
  • Lenovo brand is showing themselves student-friendly with at least 24 offers of up to 30% off their tablets, desktops, and laptops, either direct or through one of their retailers such as Best Buy or Office Max.
  • Design, graphics, and photography students who drool over pricey Adobe software will appreciate their offer of 60% off Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions for students.

Other Tech. Discounts

These aren’t the only technology discounts available to college students this fall, of course. Dozens of deals on electronics, apps, subscription services, and more are being offered at deeply discounted prices from brands at numerous retailers, including:

  • Samsung
  • Acer
  • Google
  • Square Space
  • Spotify
  • Last Pass

Check into them right away if any of these student discounts have caught your interest, since offers may be available in limited quantities or expire soon. Student tuition costs may be rising, but these deep student discounts on electronics can help offset the increase in your educational expenses.

I wish there were deals like this back when I was in college! Then again, maybe there were and I just had no idea they existed… :/
