Getting Used to The Debt Situation

by MoneyNing

Not many of us are born rich and paying off debt has become many people’s way of life.  From the early years, something called the student loan starts our period of debt.  From then on, we go to college and most of the time the money we owe increases until we graduate.  Those that are more informed will get by without additional credit card debt, but many others will incur the ultra high interest while they continue to live their young lives.

Humans are usually very adaptive but this is our strength as well as our weakness.  When we graduate from college, many of us are so much in debt it doesn’t seem like it matters.  We start buying everything on credit, starting our fancy life.

Unfortunately, this is the story of many Americans.  They have just gotten used to the debt situation.

It doesn’t really matter how much they owe anymore because they feel like they can just slowly run their credit cards up without much consequences.  For a couple of years, everything is okay but eventually this catches up to them.  Their credit limit is full and no one will offer them another credit card to bail them out.

At this point, they will need to start paying off their debt while dramatically scaling down their materialistic life.  For many people, this is not just hard but down right impossible because they have gotten used to life with their credit card.

Hopefully, we don’t get used our debt situation and will instead actively try to eliminate it.  If you know of someone who sound like they fit in the story above, please inform them that they need to seek help!

May everyone be able to reduce their debt day by day!

Getting out of debt, legit or unsavory, is a TASTY feeling.

I can’t wait until I can taste the sweetness of being debt free. Hopefully, I’ll be debt free sometime in 2008 or 2009.

Thrifty Penny: Good that you have a plan and have a schedule for when you can be debt free. We should all admire that.

Reducing debt day by day is a good feeling. It gave me a high that I had never felt before with anything else, even shopping when I was a bit of a shopaholic.
