On a Cruise for the First Time

cruise ship
As you are reading this, I am getting ready to board a cruise for the first time to attend my friend’s wedding. Of course, it wouldn’t be fun if there’s no drama, but no worries (for you trouble makers out there), because I:

  • Get sea sick and I’m going on a seven day cruise
  • Am the best man
  • Need to make a speech (and I suck at public speaking)
  • Have no idea how Internet is going to work on a ship (and I’m paranoid in general about my websites)
  • Am going with Emma, who’ve never been on one either

I am sure the trip will turn out great, but long story short, expect me to be less responsive in replying to your comments and questions even though I’ve already scheduled a few good posts to be published in the coming week. Don’t worry, I’m sure I will find a way to check in from time to time so if you have any burning questions, you can still contact me at any time.

I’m sure everything will go just fine. Have a great week!…and there are plenty of options out there to stop sea sickness so I wouldn’t be worried about that.

Hey David! Enjoy the cruise buddy! My wife and I went on a cruise around Europe earlier in May, and we loved it.

In fact, 25% of the reason why we started Financial Samurai was because we loved to cruise SO MUCH, that we imagined waking up one morning on our cruise, blogging from our balcony, overlooking the pristine waters of Cannes, France!

How money would that be to blog for a living, while going on a world cruise?! You might get addicted and never come back, so watch out!

I’m sure you will be a great best man so don’t worry. You also probably won’t get sea sick because the ship is huge and the waves are probably pretty calm even when the ship is going full speed.

Enjoy the cruise!

Have fun! Sounds like a fun, relaxing time. I think cruises are usually pretty good about internet – might nto always be available but often is (I have friends who went on Semester at Sea – literally a cruise for a semester where you have classes on the ship and visit tons of cool places). Your site should be fine!

Gosh, Ning. You’ve many to be worried about here! LOl

By the way, if you’re having the seasickness, you might want to buy a packet of Chinese preserved plum, as it’s best for stopping the nausea due to the seasickness.

Also, I hope you’ll enjoy the wedding party and the holiday as well.
