Ann: I'm assuming that it is okay for a senior citizen only because the store independently decided to do this to show respect? The policy must be "refills are for the same visit as the purchase only" right?

As for people trying to get more, I guess we just have to deal with these types of stuff since there really isn't a way to stop it.

I actually work at McDonald's and bringing the coffee cup back is ok IF you are a senior citizen. However, I have seen people bring back the 32 oz. plastic cups and refill them over and over, even though the campaign for that particular cup passed months before. And we get a lot of people who insist they ordered a drink or fries. I'm a manager, and I explain to them that "the cashier probably didn't hear that part, but you weren't charged for it either. If you'd still like the item, I'd be glad to ring it up."

Things like this happen all the time. I have seen people buy one cup of coffee from McDonalds and then save the cup and go back everyday to refill their coffee for free etc etc.
