I finally filed my taxes, and it was so much faster this year compared to previous years because I did this online. The service I used was taxactonline.com, and I picked it mainly because of its low cost ($15.95 for both state and federal).
Instead of not really knowing what to do, which forms to download, and going crazy trying to add all the numbers, you get to relax and just answer questions, letting the online software do the rest. Another benefit is that you can submit your application online, so there is no envelopes to seal, no lost mail, and best of all, it is faster!
If you have an annual gross income of $52,000 or less, you can go to the IRS website and click “2007 Free File.” where you will find a list of companies that will allow you to file the federal part of the return for free.
Remember that the deadline is less than 3 weeks away so don’t file late!
